Project Title: Project PW11905010 — 10T/H Ultrapure Water System
Date: 2019-05-05
Project Overview
- Project Name: Project No. PW11905010
- Location: India
- System Process: MMF + ACF + 2RO + EDI + SMB
- Production Capacity: 10 T/H
- Water Quality Standard: Ultrapure water, 18 MΩ·cm class (EDI + mixed-bed polishing)
Client Profile
The end client is a major manufacturer of touch displays, display modules and electronic components serving global consumer electronics brands, with a manufacturing base in South Asia. Reliable ultrapure water is essential to its precision manufacturing processes.
In accordance with the client’s confidentiality requirements, the customer name is withheld in this case study and the project is referenced by its contract number.
Technical Note: Process Terms
For your reference, here is a breakdown of the technical process mentioned:
- MMF: Multi-Media Filter — removes suspended solids and turbidity from feed water through layered filtration media (anthracite, sand and garnet).
- ACF: Activated Carbon Filter — removes residual chlorine, organic matter, color and odor to protect downstream membranes and ion-exchange resins.
- 2RO: Two-stage Reverse Osmosis — two RO passes in series, producing water of significantly higher purity and lower conductivity.
- EDI: Electrodeionization — a continuous, chemical-free polishing process that combines ion exchange with electrical regeneration to produce high-resistivity water.
- SMB: Secondary Mixed Bed — a polishing mixed-bed ion exchanger, typically the final stage that lifts water resistivity to 18 MΩ·cm.
