Description

AmberTec™ MR-3 LC H/OH Nuclear Grade Mixed Bed Ion Exchange Resin | DuPont (formerly Dow) High‑Purity Resin for Nuclear Power Applications
Product Overview
AmberTec™ MR-3 LC H/OH (originally Dow MR‑575LC) is a nuclear‑grade mixed‑bed ion exchange resin specially developed for primary and secondary circuit water treatment in nuclear power plants, part of DuPont Water Solutions. Manufactured from nuclear‑grade high‑purity raw materials using a crack‑free bead process, it meets ASME, EPRI, RCC‑M and other nuclear standards. Designed for pressurized water reactors (PWR), boiling water reactors (BWR) and nuclear‑facility water treatment systems, it delivers extremely low ionic residuals and leachables, ensuring long‑term stable operation of nuclear‑grade water quality.
Key Features
Nuclear‑Grade Purity Certification – Complies with ASME Section III and RCC‑M nuclear‑grade material specifications; impurity ions such as Cl⁻ and SO₄²⁻ are <0.1 ppm.
Crack‑Free Bead Structure – High mechanical strength (≥95% spherical integrity after attrition), resistant to radiation and thermal shock, suitable for high‑temperature/high‑pressure service.
Extremely Low Leachables – TOC leaching <5 ppb, soluble silica <1 ppb, meeting the ultra‑low impurity requirements of nuclear systems.
Precise Particle‑Size Matching – Cation (H⁺ form) and anion (OH⁻ form) resins exhibit highly consistent particle‑size distribution, ensuring clear separation in mixed beds and thorough regeneration.
Traceable Packaging – Each batch is supplied with a full Material Certificate (CoC) and Nuclear Quality Assurance documentation (NOA/NCA).

Usage Guidelines
  • Pre‑loading Preparation: Soak resin in nuclear‑grade CO₂‑free water (CO₂ <0.1 ppm) for 48 hours under nitrogen blanket during transfer.
  • Mixed‑Bed Ratio: Recommended cation:anion = 1:2 (by volume), bed height ≥1200 mm.
  • Operating Conditions: Temperature ≤50°C, flow rate 10‑20 BV/h, on‑line conductivity monitoring <0.1 µS/cm.
  • Regeneration Process: Regenerate with nuclear‑grade hydrochloric acid (HCl) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH), reagent purity ≥ACS grade.
  • Radiation Protection: Follow radioactive‑material handling procedures when contacting used resin.
Packaging & Quality Assurance
• Special nuclear‑grade packaging: 25 L/bag, double polyethylene bag + lead‑shielded container (on request).
• Each batch includes: Material Certificate (CoC), Nuclear Quality Release Note (NOA), factory test report.
• Complies with ASME, RCC‑M, EPRI, and GB/T 13659‑13661 nuclear‑grade resin standards.
Safety Notes
⚠ For use only by trained nuclear‑facility personnel; site radiation‑protection procedures must be followed.
⚠ Discarded resin must be treated as radioactive waste; unauthorized discharge is prohibited.
⚠ Store in dedicated radiation‑protected warehouses; avoid mixing with conventional chemicals.
