Client Profile
The end client is a polysilicon producer developing one of the Middle East’s largest high-purity polysilicon bases in a free zone. Polysilicon production is among the most water-intensive and purity-critical processes in the PV supply chain.

Technical Note: Process Terms
For your reference, here is a breakdown of the technical process mentioned:
- MMF: Multi-Media Filter — removes suspended solids and turbidity from feed water through layered filtration media (anthracite, sand and garnet).
- UF: Ultrafiltration — a membrane filtration stage that removes colloids, bacteria, viruses and fine particles, delivering stable, low-SDI feed water for reverse osmosis.
- 1RO: Single-stage Reverse Osmosis — one pass of reverse osmosis for salt removal.
- ASS: Automatic Softening System — an automated ion-exchange softener that removes hardness from feed water to protect downstream membranes.
- EDI: Electrodeionization — a continuous, chemical-free polishing process that combines ion exchange with electrical regeneration to produce high-resistivity water.
- SMB: Secondary Mixed Bed — a polishing mixed-bed ion exchanger, typically the final stage that lifts water resistivity to 18 MΩ·cm.
